If you're noticing lines and wrinkles and aren't sure whether Botox or dermal fillers are your best solution, you're not alone. It's one of the most common questions patients ask at Aloha Aesthetics MD.
While both Botox and dermal fillers effectively treat wrinkles, they tackle different aspects of aging. Botox and similar neuromodulators like Jeuveau or Dysport primarily target dynamic wrinkles—those formed by facial expressions such as smiling, frowning, or squinting. Areas commonly treated include forehead lines, the vertical "11's" between your eyebrows, and crow's feet around your eyes. By temporarily relaxing specific muscles, these treatments prevent deeper wrinkles from forming while preserving natural facial expressions.
Dermal fillers, on the other hand, address volume loss that occurs naturally with aging. Over time, we lose facial fat and even bone density, which leads to sagging and deep-set wrinkles. Fillers effectively restore volume in areas such as under the eyes, around the nose and mouth (nasolabial folds), and lips. The result is a refreshed, youthful appearance without invasive surgery.
At our med spa, I personally consult with every new patient to create a customized treatment plan that considers your specific concerns, facial anatomy, and long-term beauty goals. My philosophy is focused on aging gracefully, naturally, and beautifully—no overdone looks here!
