WOMEN’S HORMONE THERAPY

What is Women’s Hormone Therapy?
Q & A

Women’s hormone therapy is a medical approach that may help support well-being when hormone changes are contributing to symptoms—especially during perimenopause and menopause.
Hormone shifts can affect how you feel day-to-day. Some women notice symptoms gradually; others feel like it happens all at once.
Common concerns women bring up include:
-
Fatigue or needing more sleep
-
Sleep disruption (waking at night, unrefreshing sleep)
-
Irregular cycles (often in perimenopause)
-
Hot flashes or night sweats
-
Mood changes (irritability, feeling “on edge”)
-
Low libido
-
Vaginal dryness
-
Brain fog or feeling less sharp
-
Changes in body composition despite consistent effort
Important: These symptoms can have multiple causes. That’s why our first step is always a medical evaluation, often including lab work as appropriate, rather than assuming one explanation.
What is Perimenopause vs. Menopause?
-
Perimenopause: the transition period before menopause, when cycles may change and symptoms can begin—often in the late 30s to 40s.
-
Menopause: defined clinically after 12 months without a menstrual period.
We help women across this spectrum, with a plan that matches your stage and goals.
Why do some people say “bioidentical” hormones?
-
Some patients use “bioidentical” to describe hormones that are chemically similar to those the body produces. It’s important to know there are FDA-approved options and compounded options—and they’re not the same.
-
We’ll talk through:
-
what’s known from evidence-based guidance,
-
what’s uncertain,
-
and which route (if any) makes sense for you.
How is treatment delivered?
-
Treatment is individualized. Depending on your evaluation, options may include different routes (and for appropriate candidates, pellet therapy may be discussed). Your plan is designed around:
-
your symptoms and goals,
-
your medical history,
-
lab findings,
-
and safety monitoring.
How does the process work?
-
STEP 1 — Initial Women’s Wellness Consult (MD) — $299 (Flat)
-
A 30-minute visit with Dr. Foo to review your symptoms, history, and goals, and determine what labs are appropriate.
-
$100 can be credited towards treatments if proceeded within 45 days
-
Our Alii members can get a preferred pricing of $250
-
STEP 2 — Lab Draw + Handling — $included
-
We coordinate the draw and logistics. Labs may include hormone markers and thyroid screening as part of evaluating the full picture.
-
STEP 4 — Program Assessment + Follow-Up Plan
-
Once results return, Dr. Foo reviews findings and outlines a personalized plan. Follow-ups are scheduled based on your response and monitoring needs.
How much does it cost?
We keep pricing transparent:

-
Female first insertion (if you proceed): $597 due before insertion
-
After the initial insertion, $199 a month that covers all pellet insertions and quarterly labs
You’ll receive clear pricing for ongoing care before you commit.
Insurance

We do not participate with insurance because it is our mission to focus on science-based, individualized care—not what an insurance plan will or won’t cover. Aloha Aesthetics MD is a cash-based practice, and payment is due at the time of service.
We understand this may be disappointing at first. Many patients tell us the difference is clear once they experience the convenience, time, and attention that comes with an independent medical practice. Our priority is you: a thoughtful evaluation, a clear plan, and follow-up based on your goals and medical history—not administrative requirements.
Quarterly labs are part of safe, responsible care. Your monthly membership fee includes the required quarterly labs, so your monitoring plan is built in and predictable.
Optional add-on line (use if true): Additional labs outside the required quarterly monitoring panel may be recommended based on your history or symptoms and may involve an additional charge.
We have opted out of Medicare. Medicare beneficiaries may be seen only if they sign the required private contract/waiver acknowledging that services are paid out-of-pocket and not submitted to Medicare.

Your appointments and well-being are very important to us! We understand that sometimes, unexpected delays can occur, necessitating schedule adjustments.
